Introduction

Hey my name is Demario Mesa, I've lived in Alaska for over 14 years now and plan to finish out my college years at UAF. My major is business administration and plan to use that knowledge to start up my own business within the clothing industry. I love watching sports games specifically football and basketball. I love traveling, and going on cruises. I like to stay active at the gym to keep my body feeling fresh. Most of all is, I love seeing and help improving good work ethic as well as having a strong mentality.

My relationship with art I would say is pretty minor. I do enjoy drawing and coming up with designs for my clothing brand, but other then that I don't do many art activities. I do love going to art museums and seeing all of the different works of art. I love what art can bring to you and the stories they tell. Something as simple as a drawing can express so much to a person and just that is art itself. I do look forward to all the materials we will learn and hopefully be able to use it for my own purposes.

Northern Renaissance

The Blind Leading the Blind (1568) By Pieter Bruegel the Elder This portrait doesn't necessarily inspire awe, but instead evokes a complex set of feelings of unease and trust. This work of art presents the image of blind men guiding each other towards a ditch in such desperation. When looking at the figures in the painting there's many expressions that each one of them express. They are all holding something to keep them all connected and that enacts that trust feeling these men are putting in each other. One other factor that serves a great emotion impact is the type of landscape that is presented. The emptiness and the lack of structures gives that feeling of blandness or isolation. You do see a church in the art piece which goes in to the religious part of this painting.
